Terms & Conditions

These guidelines are in place to ensure sessions run smoothly and fairly for all students.

If anything here is unclear, you’re very welcome to ask.

If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, at least 48 hours’ notice is required.

Each student is allowed one free reschedule or cancellation per school term

(with the credit moved forward or refunded).

After this, further cancellations will be charged in full or deducted from prepaid credit.

I teach through most school holidays

apart from:

a two-week winter break
occasional personal holidays

Students are welcome to take time off during half-terms, end-of-term breaks, and school holidays.

Any additional time off beyond this will count as the one free reschedule per term, or otherwise be charged in full / deducted from prepaid credit.

Illness

If a student is unwell and 48 hours’ notice is given, this may be covered by the one free cancellation or reschedule for that term.

Once this allowance has been used, any further absences — including illness — will be charged in full or deducted from prepaid credit.

Leaving Tuition

If you decide to stop tuition, I’m sorry to see you go.

As long as 48 hours’ notice is given before the next session, no further payment will be required.

Any remaining paid-for sessions must either be used or will be forfeited and not refunded.

Toilets & Supervision

By enrolling in tutoring sessions, you give permission for your child to:

use the toilet independently if needed, or

wait briefly in the waiting area unsupervised.

I trust students to behave responsibly during these times.

If you have any concerns, please feel free to discuss them with me.

Behaviour

In the unusual circumstance that a student’s or parent’s behaviour is not acceptable, I reserve the right to refuse service.

In such cases:

the session slot may be offered to another student

any remaining paid-for sessions will be fully refunded

These terms exist to ensure fairness, clarity, and a positive learning environment for everyone involved.

James Novis Tuition reserves the right to discontinue tuition at its discretion if continued sessions are no longer in the best interests of the student, other students, or the tutor. In such cases, any remaining prepaid sessions will be refunded.
