I’ve been working as a tutor for over ten years, supporting students across a wide range of abilities and backgrounds. I specialise in English (Language and Literature), Mathematics, GCSE preparation and the 11+.
I hold a BA in KS2/KS3 Education in English from the University of Brighton, and I’ve taught in a variety of settings including primary, secondary and grammar schools. This experience has given me a good understanding of the academic pressures students face — and how easily confidence can be knocked if learning feels rushed or intimidating.
My approach is calm, structured and student-centred. I focus on building understanding step by step, breaking down complex ideas, and creating an atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Progress tends to follow naturally once confidence is in place.
I also have experience working with students with ADHD, autism and additional learning needs, and adapt sessions to suit individual learning styles and pace.
Whether a student needs support with Shakespeare, algebra or exam technique, my aim is always the same: to help them feel more capable, more confident, and less anxious about learning.
